Nola Farley was a two-time All-American middle hitter and a key part of two St. Francis teams that advanced to NAIA Championship Tournaments.  A four-year starter, she earned All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors during all four of her years at St. Francis. She also earned All-District 20 honors from the NAIA in the final two years (1992 and '93) of district alignment. Farley was named the Player of the Year in both the CCAC and District 20 in her sophomore season (1992).  She was accorded honorable mention All-America accolades as a junior in 1993 and garnered second-team All-America recognition as a senior in 1994. She helped lead the Saints to national championship tourney appearances in both 1992 in San Diego, where the Saints placed ninth, and 1994 in Chattanooga, Tenn., when St. Francis finished fifth.  The 1994 club finished with a 40-6 record and compiled an .870 winning percentage, the second-best percentage in the storied USF program's history. A Chicago native, Farley graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1991. She was a four-time all-conference selection as a prep volleyball player.
