Hall of Fame
Two setters may have been inducted into the hall of fame before her and two others may have earned all-america status just like her, yet there can be no denying that Kendra Horsman is the greatest setter to ever don the brown and gold. Horsman owns total control of the Saint record books claiming a clean sweep of every top assist mark in school history. That list includes most assists in a game (26 in 1990), match (60 in both 1990 and 1993), season (1,692 in 1989) and career (4,104), as well as highest assist average (10.9 apg in 1989) and best assist percentage (.419 in 1989) for a season. And, had it not been for Ann Deen, a four-time all-america selection, Horsman would have garnered the most all-america commendations in the history of the program. In the end, she landed a place on said team in each of three seasons, including spots on the second team each of her final two years. ASICS and Volleyball Monthly Magazine also teamed up to name Horsman to their NAIA All-America Third Team following the completion of her senior season. Horsman's other honors included being selected as the 1991 player of the year by both the CCAC and District 20. The dual awards capped off a run of three straight seasons in which she was chosen to both the all-conference and all-district teams. Still room for debate? Then consider that Horsman also directed CSF to a school-record 53 wins during her first full season as a setter in 1989, was a part of three NAIA national tournament teams, including the program's top finisher in 1990 (fourth place), and played a major role in the Fighting Saints going 162-44 (.787) while she was in uniform. Enough said. A 3.30 student who earned her degree in Biology and certification in Secondary Education, Horsman has remained heavily involved in volleyball having served as a coach at the grade school, high school, club and college level.
