Described as one of the "guttiest" players ever coached by CSF's men's tennis coach Lyle Hicks, Bob Tomasino was a member of the first tennis program started in 1977. During that initial campaign, Tomasino was the only player who had played high school tennis forasmuch as four years. That team finished 2-7. However, over the next two seasons, Tomasino led the charge for teams that would go 35-15 and make consecutive appearances at the NAIA National Tournament. In 1978, Bob was the district 20 #2 singles champion for a team that finished 25th in the nation. In 1979, he was the district's #2 singles champion for a team that had an identical 25th place reading. Tomasino currently holds the records for the most matches played during a season (68), most overall wins (both singles and doubles play) in a season (51), most singles wins in a season (26), and most doubles wins in a season (25).
