JOLIET, Ill. -- Led by
Carmen Solis' and
Dyannara Franco's sub-18 minute showings in the 5000-meter run, the University of St. Francis women's outdoor track & field team competed at USF's own Fighting Chance Invite on Friday and Saturday. The meet was the final meet of the 2026 regular season before the NAIA National Championships commence on May 20.
Solis turned in the 13th overall fastest time of the 79 competitors, while Franco crossed the finish line at No. 15. Solis ran a 17:32.10 in the event with Franco clocking in at 17:52.02. Also finishing in the Top 30 in the contest was
Evita Martinez. Martinez posted a final time of 18:11.98 for 28th place.
In the 400-meter race,
Lilia Hacker ran a 1:05.20, and
Jaqueline Tecuanhuehue authored a time of 1:05.22.
In the field events, Tecuanhuehue also fared well in the Long Jump competition. The sophomore posted a 4.62m in the event, while
Jaden Hart registered a 38.67m in the Hammer Throw.
