GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of St. Francis women's track distance medley relay team fell one spot short of advancing to the finals in the event at the 46th Annual NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships held at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla. on Thursday.
The team of
Carmen Solis,
Lilia Hacker,
Evita Martinez and
Dyannara Franco placed sixth in its heat with a time of 12:18.26, which was the eleventh-best time among the 20 teams competing. To advance to the championship round, the team had to be in the top three in their heat or have one of the next four fastest times after that grouping to advance. The Saints fell one spot short.
Solis, Martinez and Franco will now turn their attention to the 3,000-meter race on Saturday (March 7) at 2 pm CST.
