ELMHURST, Ill. --
Evita Martinez and
Dyannara Franco each recorded Top 10 finishes at the Elmhurst University Chicagoland Outdoor Championships over the weekend to lead the University of St. Francis women's outdoor track & field program.
Martinez (6th place, 10:21.01) and Franco (7th place, 10:21.04) finished within .03 seconds of each other in the 3000-meter run, where they competed against 30 other runners. Franco set a PR with her time, while
Nicole Vollrath finished 13th overall, clocking in with a final time of 11:06.38.
Also setting a PR on the day was
Marianne Gerona. The sophomore authored a time of 5:53.36 in the 1500-meter run to finish in 47th place.Â
Lilia Hacker competed in the same event and placed 37th with a mark of 5:30.50. She also placed 27th out of 70 runners in the 800-meter event, finishing in 2:34.02.
Rounding out the Saint competitors were
Lauren Manning and
Gianna Trenter. Manning (1:02.62) placed 23rd in the 400-meter race, while Trenter registered a time of 1:14.75 to gain 20th place in the 400-meter hurdles.
