ELMHURST, Ill. -- Led by a sixth-place finish from
Dyannara Franco, four members of the University of St. Francis women's outdoor track & field team recorded Top 25 finishes at the Elmhurst University Twilight Invite on Friday.
Franco notched her sixth-place finish among 55 runners in the 800-meter field with her time of 2:24.01.Â
Evita Martinez (8th, 2:24.69) and
Nicole Vollrath (15th, 2:30.89) also notched Top 15 performances in the same event. Both Franco and Martinez each set personal records with their times.Â
Franco, Martinez and Vollrath also competed in the 1,500-meter race. Franco placed 10th overall with a time of 4:51.90, while Martinez crossed the finish line just 0.89 seconds behind her teammate at 4:52.79. The 11th-place time was a new personal record. Vollrath, meanwhile, completed the race in 16th place with a time of 5:08.10.
Rounding out the Top 25 list was
Mikayla Watson in the 200-meter race (25th, 27.85 seconds). Watson also set a new personal record with her time.
Up Next
The Saints compete next in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on May 2-3. The meet will be hosted by the Saints at Joliet Memorial Stadium.
