CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa/BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Led by
Dyannara Franco,
Evita Martinez and
Lauren Manning, the University of St. Francis women's outdoor track & field team gained five Top 10 finishes between the Mount Mercy University Mustang Distance Carnival on Friday and the Olivet Nazarene University Tiger Open on Saturday.
At the Mount Mercy meet, Franco and Martinez opened the day with Top 5 finishes in the 5,000-meter run. Â Franco authored a first-place finish, recording a personal-best time of 18:19.13, while Martinez claimed third-place honors with her time of 18:37.85.
Nicole Vollrath (5:00.61) also competed on Friday, registering a seventh-place finish in the 1,500-meter run.
Highlighting the list of performers at the Tiger Open with Top 10 finishes were Manning and
Gianna Trenter in the 400-meter run. Manning placed fifth overall in a time of 1:02.37, while Trenter crossed the finish line in eighth place at 1:04.61.
Both Trenter (12th place) and Manning (14th place) also competed in the 200-meter race, finishing within one second of each other at 27.64 and 27.79, respectively.
Lilia Hacker (800-meter run),
Jaden Hart (shot put) and
Nyajia Straughter (shot put) also registered Top 15 finishes. Hacker claimed 12th place overall, while setting a PR with a time of 2:28.53, while Hart also finished in 12th place with a distance of 9.45 meters. Straughter authored a 14th-place finish with a final distance of 8.79 meters.
Rounding out the list of competitors for St. Francis on the day was
Mikayla Watson. She competed in both the 100- (13.49) and 200-meter (28.46) races, finishing in 17th place for both events.
No team scores were recorded at the meet.
