ST. LOUIS, Mo./NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Competing in the first two meets of the outdoor season over the weekend, the University of St. Francis women's track team saw two individuals compete at the Washington University (Mo.) Distance Carnival on Friday, while six additional Saints competed at the North Central First Chance Invitational on Saturday.
Dyannara Franco turned in the 13th-fastest time of NAIA competing institutions in the 5,000-meter event at the Distance Carnival. Her recorded time was 18:52.86, while
Nicole Vollrath finished with a final time of 19:12.62.
In the First Chance Invite,
Evita Martinez led the USF contingent with her seventh-place finish in the 800-meter race. She ran a 2:25.16 in the event, finishing five seconds behind the first-place finisher.
Lilia Hacker placed 15th overall with a time of 2:32.58.
Martinez also recorded a 12
th place finish in the 1500-meter event with a time of 5:05.73.
Marianne Gerona finished with a time of 5:3.98.
Competing in the 400-meter were
Lauren Manning and
Gianna Trenter. Manning posted a final time of 1:05.00, while Trenter crossed the line at 1:05.48. Manning and Trenter, along with
Mikayla Watson, also saw action in the 200-meter race. Manning ran the event with a time of 27.60, while Trenter (28.20) and Watson (28.51) finished the event within one second of each other. Watson also secured a 31st placement overall in the 100-meter, with a time of 13.46.
