GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of St. Francis women's track distance medley relay team fell three spots short of advancing to the finals in the event at the 45th Annual NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships held at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla. on Thursday.
The team of
Nicole Vollrath,
Lauren Manning,
Dyannara Franco and
Allison Ramsey placed seventh in its heat with a time of 12:22.20, which was the thirteenth-best time among the 20 teams competing. To advance to the championship round, the team had to be in the top three in their heat or have one of the next four fastest times after that grouping to advance. The Saints fell three spot short.
Ramsey will now turn her attention to the preliminaries of the 1,000-meter race on Friday (Feb. 28) at 2:45 pm CST. Finals for that event will take place on Saturday at 1:35 pm CST.
