ALLENDALE, Mich. --
Carmen Solis topped the list of University of St. Francis women's indoor track & field performers at the Grand Valley State University (Mich.) Holiday Open on Friday, placing third overall in her heat with a time of 17:41.25 in the 5,000-meter race. She was one of eight Saints to place in the Top 25 of their individual events on the day.
Six of USF's other top performances also competed in the 5,000-meter run.
Evita Martinez (18:07.41 - 10th place) and
Dyannara Franco (18:08.57 - 8th place) highlighted the group finishing with times within one second of each other, while
Nicole Vollrath competed in the same heat and crossed the finish line with a time of 19:11.91 for 23rd place.
Patrycja Mwroca (12th place),
Aaralyn Martinez (14
th place) and
Giselle Ramos (17th place) all competed in a separate heat and recorded times of 20:13.55, 20:26.12 and 20:38.66, respectively.
USF's final top performances came in the weight throw and shot competitions.
Jaden Hart, who placed 19th individually in the weight throw (13.55 meters), also took home a second Top 25 finish in the shot put (9.47 meters - 21st place).
