DAVENPORT, Iowa --
Carmen Solis and
Evita Martinez headlined the University of St. Francis women's indoor track & field team's performance at the St. Ambrose University Finals Week Invite with their respective first-place finishes in the one mile race and 3000-meter run on Friday.
Solis and Martinez were two of 12 Fighting Saints to score on the day. Solis registered a one mile run time of 5:11.0, while Martinez paced the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:17.6.
Solis was joined by teammates
Nicole Vollrath,
Patrycja Mrowca,
Dianna Mascote,
Sydney Lukancic and
Yusei Muniz Aguilar, who also placed in the one mile race. Vollrath finished third at 5:22.7, while Mrowca was fourth at 5:44.1. Mascote crossed the finish line five seconds behind Mrowca (5:49.98) for fifth place and Lukancic and Muniz Auguilar earned 8th and 9th places with times of 6:36.9 and 6:43.1, respectively.
Dyannara Franco competed with Martinez in the 3000-meter run, and finished fifth overall with a time of 10:40.5.
Lilia Hacker,
Lauren Manning and
Makenzie Piwcewicz combined to tally 21 points for the Saints in the 400-meter race. Hacker placed sixth overall with a time of 1:05.4, while Manning finished with a time of 1:06.0 for seventh place. Piwcewicz rounded out the group with her tenth-place finish (1:10.0).
Jaden Hart netted the remainder of USF's points in the weight throw, placing fifth overall with a final mark of 12.9 meters.
St. Francis totaled 62 points on the day to finish fourth among nine scoring teams. Saint Xavier University captured the meet crown with its 144-point total.

The Saints will take off for the winter break before returning to action in five weeks when they travel to Naperville, Ill. to compete in the North Central College Heenan Invite on January 17.
