BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Sophomore
Nicole Vollrath finished sixth individually and the University of St. Francis women's cross country team placed fourth as a team at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday morning at Aspen Ridge Golf Course.
Olivet Nazarene University claimed the meet title after placing four runners in the Top 10 and earning the low score of 28 points. Governors State took second place out the top four teams with 57 points, edging out St. Ambrose University (Iowa) who finished in third place with 58 points. The Fighting Saints totaled 114 points. A total of 96 runners representing nine schools competed in the event.
Vollrath earned all-conference honors by posting a time of 22:56.4. Heidi Heldt of Olivet Nazarene secured CCAC Runner of the Year honors by topping the performance list with a time of 21:51.9.
Aaralyn Martinez (25th place),
Dianna Mascote (33rd),
Patrycja Mrowca (39th) and
Giselle Ramos (40th) completed the 6K course in that order, with Martinez crossing the finish line first in 24:32.5. Mascote was next in line, registering a time of 24:47.6, while Mrowca and Ramos finished in succession at 25:01.7 and 25:03.9, respectively.

With her sixth-place overall finish, Vollrath qualified to compete individually at the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships, which will take place in Tallahassee, Fla. on Friday, Nov. 21. By securing the CCAC title, Olivet Nazarene received the league's automatic bid to nationals.
