GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A Top 5 finish from sophomore 
Nicole Vollrath enabled the University of St. Francis women's cross country team to earn a No. 10 placement out of 23 teams in the white division at the Aquinas College (Mich.) NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday morning.  The meet featured nine teams either ranked or receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.
NAIA No. 8 Cornerstone University (Mich.) claimed bragging rights with its 102-point total.  The Golden Eagles were followed by Huntington University (Ind.) (110), No. 11 Marian University (Ind.) (113), Goshen College (Ind.) (157) and No. 1 Taylor University (Ind.) (159).  USF totaled 263 points, which topped No. 16 Olivet Nazarene University by 15 points.
Vollrath finished fourth overall in a field of 196 runners.  She completed the 5K course in 19:06.6, just 23.0 seconds off the top time.  That went to Goshen's Kassy Ortega at 18:43.6.
Aaralyn Martinez also placed among the top 40 runners for the Saints at No. 39 with her time of 19:56.9.  The rest of USF's scoring came from 
Patrycja Mrowca (66th, 20:24.3), 
Dianna Mascote (71st, 20:29.3) and 
Giselle Ramos (105th, 21:25.5).

The Saints will head to Bourbonnais, Ill. to compete in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Nov. 8 at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course.
