CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Nicole Vollrath led the University of St. Francis women's cross country team to a 10th place finish at the Mount Mercy University Seminole Valley Stampede on Saturday morning at Seminole Valley Park.

The Saints finished the day with 261 points, 19 points behind Evangel University (Mo.) who totaled 242.  NAIA No. 15-ranked Aquinas College (Mich.) captured the meet title with 63 points followed by No. 18 Kansas Wesleyan University (70 points).  St. Ambrose University (Iowa) secured third place honors with 105.

A total of 17 teams competed in the event.

Vollrath led the way for St. Francis, placing 37th overall with a time of 23:54.9 on the 6K course.  Aaralyn Martinez was 16 spots back in 53rd place with a time of 24:33.8.  Isabel De la Hoz Camiroaga finished third for the Saints in the No. 55 slot with her 24:43.6 finish, while Patrycja Mrowca placed 59th overall (24:55.1).

USF's final points came from Giselle Ramos (85th, 25:58.6).

Missouri Baptist University's Isabella Aimonette topped the 171-runner field with her time of 21:34.0.

The Saints will have three weeks of rest before they compete again on Saturday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to compete in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas.  The meet is slated to begin at 9 am.
