DAVENPORT, Iowa --
Allison Ramsey headlined the University of St. Francis women's indoor track & field team's performance at the St. Ambrose University Fighting Bee Invitational with her two first-place 'B' standard efforts in the 1,000-meter and one-mile races on Saturday.
Ramsey, one of nine Fighting Saints to score on the day, registered times of 5:06.66 in the mile and 3:00.60 in the 1,000m. Teammates
Nicole Vollrath and
Dyannara Franco also placed in both events. Vollrath finished second in the mile run at 5.21.23 and third in the 1,000m at 3:12.94, while Franco placed fifth in both events with times of 5:31.28 and 3:16.81, respectively.
Ramsey fell 6.66 seconds shy of the "A" mark in the mile and 4.1 seconds short in the 1000m, which would have automatically punched her ticket to the NAIA National Championships next month. Her 1,000m time currently places her fifth among all NAIA competitors and her mile showing presently places her sixth.
USF showcased two third-place finishes on the day in the 400-meter and triple jump events.Â
Gianna Trenter authored a time of 1:06.75 in the 400m, whileÂ
Claire Roberts recorded a final distance of 9.06 meters in the triple jump.
