DAVENPORT, Iowa --
Lauren Manning headlined the University of St. Francis women's indoor track & field team's performance at the St. Ambrose University Finals Week Invite with her first-place finish in the 400-meter dash on Saturday.
Manning, one of five Fighting Saints to score on the day, registered a time of 1:03.02 in the event. She was joined by teammates
Gianna Trenter and
Jaqueline Tecuanhuehue, who also placed. Trenter finished third at 1:05.76, while Tecuanhuehue was fourth at 1:05.95. Tecuanhuehue also claimed points for the Saints in the triple jump with her final distance of 9.29 meters, good enough for sixth place.
Jaden Hart just missed netting points in the shot put, but did place fourth overall in the weight throw competition. She finished just 0.07 meters off the second-place distance of 12.88 meters with a 12.81 final mark. Also scoring in that event was
Nyajia Straughter, placing eighth with her distance of 7.39 meters.
St. Francis totaled 30 points on the day to finish sixth among seven scoring teams. Saint Xavier University captured the meet crown with its 138-point total.

The Saints will take off for the winter break before returning to action in five weeks when they travel to Naperville, Ill. to compete in the North Central College Heenan Invite on January 18.
