GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --- Another strong performance from Allison Ramsey helped the NAIA No. 20-ranked University of St. Francis women's cross country team upset a pair of ranked foes at the Aquinas College (Mich.) NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday morning.  In a race that featured 13 teams either ranked or among others receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll, the Fighting Saints registered a sixth-place showing out of 20 teams.

Ramsey placed seventh overall out of 180 runners, completing the 5K course in 17:54.3.  Riley Mach also finished in the Top 50 with her time of 18:52.7.  That put her 41st.
USF gained the rest of its scoring from Riley Fleming (52nd, 19:02.5), Dyannara Franco (56th, 19:04.1) and Evita Martinez (68th, 19:13.6).

NAIA No. 2 Taylor University (Ind.) ran away with the meet title by having its five scoring runners finish no lower than 11th place, topped by meet champion Jaynie Halterman (16:57.8).  The Trojans finished with a mere 27 points.

NAIA No. 10 Grace College (Ind.) was a distant second with 115 points, followed by No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan University (131), No. 22 Marian University (Ind.) (132), No. 14 Cornerstone University (Mich.) (145) and St. Francis (210).  The Saints nipped No. 16 Olivet Nazarene University, which totaled 212 points, and defeated No. 18 and host Aquinas (356 points).

The Saints will be looking to make it a perfect ten titles in a row when they compete in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Nov. 9 at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, Iowa.
