MARION, Ind. ---
Ana Mendoza Pineda used a record-setting performance at the 42nd Annual NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday to become the second University of St. Francis runner to claim NAIA All-American honors at the event.
Pineda registered a personal-best time of 4:35.67 in the finals of the 1,500-meter race to join
Katherine Bakken as a 2023 NAIA All-American. Pineda's time enabled her to finish in seventh place in the event.
Also competing in the finals of the 5,000-meter race on Friday was
Allison Ramsey. She clocked in at 18:23.64.
Pineda and Bakken's performances allowed the Fighting Saints to total six points at the NAIA Championships, placing USF in a tie for 39th place among 62 teams that scored.
University of British Columbia won the team title with 104 total points.
