NAPERVILLE, Ill. ---
Mara Bruno authored top three finishes in three separate events to help the University of St. Francis women's indoor track & field team to a third-place finish at the North Central College Snow Day Invitational on Friday.
Bruno placed second in both the 200-meter dash and the long jump, while finishing third in the 60-meter dash. She ran the 60-meter dash in 7.93 seconds and the 200-meter event in 25.7 seconds, while leaping 16 feet, 8 inches in the long jump.
Also earning a pair of top finishes was
Emerson Colins, who placed just above Bruno in the 60-meter dash (7.82 seconds) and two spots behind her in the 200-meter dash (26.9 seconds).
USF's top finish came from
Kelsey Rice, who won the 3,000-meter race in 11:16.56. Teammate
Tiffany Lehmann was one spot back with her time of 11:55.27.
The Saints' other scoring came in the 400- and 800-meter events. In the 400,
Gianna Trenter placed fourth with her time of 1:08.28. She nudged out teammate
Claire Roberts for that spot. Roberts was one place back, finishing in 1:08.81.
In the 800,
Liliana Ordonez was fifth (2:39.28) and
Ariadna Juarez was seventh (2:40.07).
USF scored a total of 68 points in the six-team competition. Host North Central captured the meet title with 204 points.
The Saints are at the St. Ambrose University (Iowa) Fighting Bee Invite on Saturday.
