Saint Anne, Ill. --- Shannon Smith led a contingent of three University of St. Francis women's golfers at the Olivet Nazarene University Bill Johnson Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday, placing ninth among 28 golfers in the field. 

Smith opened with a 91 on Friday, but rebounded with an 84 on Saturday to finish at 175.   

Taylor Petz posted USF's best score on the first day with her 89.  On Saturday, she registered a 92 to finish at 191 over the two days.  That placed her in a three-way tie for 14th place.

Rounding out the group was Ella Oakley, who produced a 96 on Friday and a 108 on Saturday for a two-day 204 total.

Host Olivet Nazarene University won the three-team event with a two-day total of 690.  Saint Xavier University's Hannah Kilbane captured individual medalist honors with her score of 161 (84-77) over the two days.

Notes: Smith's 84 on Saturday and Petz's 89 on Friday were their best rounds of the young season … Next up for the Saints is the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Invitational Sept. 26-27 at Noble Hawk Golf Links in Kendallville, Ind.
