BROOKINGS, S.D. --- The University of St. Francis women's track & field team gained its first points at the 2022 NAIA Women's Indoor Championships on Friday with its fourth place finish in the 4x800 meter relay.
Allison Ramsey,
Laisha Corona,
Ana Mendoza Pineda, and
Bailey Wilk also claimed NAIA All America honors with their performance in the event. They registered a time of 9:22.20.
Sabrina Baftiri also set herself up for a big day on Saturday by advancing to the finals in both the 3,000-meter and mile runs. She placed third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:09.53, while finishing fourth in the mile. In the latter event, she posted a 5:01.21.
Rounding out USF's list of competitors on Friday was
Mara Bruno, who placed 24th in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 11.25 inches.
The 42nd annual event will wrap up on Saturday with no less than 15 champions being crowned at the the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. Â
