ALLENDALE, Mich. --- The University of St. Francis women's indoor track & field team registered six "A" standard marks in the 5,000-meter race alone at the Grand Valley State University (Mich.) Holiday Open on Friday, while also hitting the "B" mark once in competition.

Katherine Bakken highlighted the group of six in the 5,000-meter event with her first-place performance, finishing in 17:17.20.  Also placing in the Top 10 were Ana Mendoza Pineda and Allison Ramsey.  Pineda authored the fifth-best time among the 48 overall runners with her 17:28.75 finish.  Ramsey was tenth at 17:44.89.

Others earning the "A" mark to automatically qualify for the NAIA National Championships were Bailey Wilk (17:47.97), Olivia Bukowski (18:06.52) and Alexia Bibakis (18:06.96).

Hitting the "B" standard was Mara Bruno.  She did so in the 400-meter run, placing ninth overall out of 60 challengers with a time of 58:45 seconds.

The Saints take off for the holiday break before beginning the second semester with the Trine University (Ind.) Sean Brady Alumni Invite on Jan. 14.
