JOLIET, Ill. -- The University of St. Francis men's tennis team took on College of DuPage on Saturday afternoon competing in a scrimmage match with a 4-3 defeat to the Chaparrals.
In doubles play,
Jack O'Donnell and
Lucas Fernandez-Pedrera teamed up for a 6-1 victory at No. 2. That victory would not be enough to capture the first point of the game, however, as the Saints settled for a loss at No. 1 and had to concede a forfeit at the No. 3 spot which resulted in COD being award the point.
The Saints also had to take a forfeit loss at No. 6 singles, putting the Chaparrals up 2-0 even before starting singles play.
In singles play, Fernandez-Pedrera was also victorious at No. 3, where he won 6-2, 6-1, and O'Donnell later authored a win at No. 4 with 6-3, 6-1 final scores.
In the No. 2 singles position,
John Kenny added to the Saints' victory count with his 6-0, 6-0 success.
