NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- St. Ambrose University (Iowa) put an end to the men's tennis season for the University of St. Francis on Tuesday afternoon by defeating the Fighting Saints 4-0 in quarterfinal-round action of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
In each of the four matches that were completed, St. Ambrose (12-6) yielded just five points, winning 6-0 at No. 2 doubles and by 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 counts at Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively. The hosts' other victories – No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles – were by forfeit.
Jedriel Bondoc provided the most game wins on the day for USF, totaling five victories. His singles match saw the senior trailing 6-5 when play was halted due to the Fighting Bees already claiming their fourth and final point of the contest.
Justin Joseph was next in line with three game victories at No. 5 singles.
The Saints finished their season at 0-8.
