DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The University of St. Francis men's tennis team dropped its only match of the fall season on Saturday, falling 7-0 to St. Ambrose University (Iowa).
St. Ambrose (3-2) opened the contest with a pair of 6-1 victories at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to earn its first point of the match.
In singles play, the Fighting Bees lost only seven games among the five matches played. SAU won No. 6 singles by default.
John Kenny and
Nate Monahan were the only Saints to win a game in each of their singles sets. Kenny lost 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot, while Monahan fell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3.
St. Ambrose claimed two of the other three singles matches by 6-1, 6-0 counts and was victorious 6-0, 6-0 in the other match.
The tournament closed out the fall campaign for the Fighting Saints.
