Saints Drop 7-0 Decision To Illinois Wesleyan

LOCKPORT, Ill. -- The University of St. Francis men's tennis team opened its spring season on Sunday morning, dropping a 7-0 decision to NCAA Division III Illinois Wesleyan University at Challenge Fitness.

Jedriel Bondoc captured the most games on the day for the Fighting Saints (0-2).  He fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles after dropping a 6-0 decision paired with John Kenny in the No. 1 doubles slot.

Kenny had a competitive second set at No. 2 singles before eventually falling 6-1, 6-1.

Lucas Fernandez-Pedrera and Jack O'Donnell paired up at No. 2 doubles falling 6-0, before each saw action at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.  Fernandez-Pedrera came up short with 6-2, 6-1 scores, while O'Donnell suffered the same fate at 6-0, 6-1.

Illinois Wesleyan's Will Ehrlich claimed the No. 5 singles match, defeating Justin Joseph by 6-0, 6-0 counts.

The Saints will stay at home to host Illinois Institute of Technology on Sunday (Feb. 15) at Challenge Fitness.  First serve is scheduled for 11 am.
