Saints Fall 7-0 To Illinois Institute of Technology

LOCKPORT, Ill. -- The University of St. Francis men's tennis team fell to 0-3 on the season after dropping a 7-0 decision to Illinois Institute of Technology on Sunday afternoon.

Illinois Tech (1-2) recorded 6-0, 6-1 decisions at both Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, respectively, to earn the first point of the match before handling the Saints in singles play.  The Scarlet Hawks allowed just ten game wins on the singles side.

USF's Jedriel Bondoc garnered the most success by winning four games in a 6-2, 6-2 loss at No. 1 singles.  John Kenny fell 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 with Lucas Fernandez-Pedrera dropping a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 3.  The other two matches were straight 6-0, 6-0 wins for IIT with the Saints defaulting at No. 6.

St. Francis will take the court again on Saturday, February 28 when they host NCAA Division III Wheaton College at 4 pm at Challenge Fitness.
