Bintsarovskaya Named To College Sports Communicators NAIA Academic All-America Second Team

AUSTIN, Tex. -- A NAIA All-America third team distinction and a 3.89 cumulative grade point average has resulted in University of St. Francis junior Anna Bintsarovskaya being named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NAIA Academic All-America Women's Tennis Second Team.  The CSC made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

A total of 12 individuals garnered the recognition, split up between a six-member first team and the six-member second team.  Bintsarovskaya, a Computer Science major, was the first member in the 49-year history of the USF women's tennis program to garner a CSC All-America honor.

A three-time NAIA All-America honoree as well as a three-time all-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference first-team selection, Bintsarovskaya was a key piece to the women's tennis team this past spring as evidenced by her 6-1 record in singles play all at the No. 1 position.  In the fall, she also claimed the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional crown with a 3-0 showing, before advancing to the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga.  While at the national tournament Bintsarovskaya, defeated 2024 NAIA All-American Silva Avakian of Friends University (Kan.) with scores of 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2.  She followed that performance with another win against Hanna Lindebloom of William Woods University (Mo.) with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) decision.  Like Avakian, Lindebloom was also a NAIA All-America choice in 2024.

The award is the seventh such honor for Bintsarovskaya this spring.  She was named a third-team NAIA All-American and a first team all-conference selection, as well as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC All-Academic Team member last month.  She also earned a spot on the CSC All-District squad along on May 13.  Bintsarovskaya was also named USF's Female Athlete of the Year for the 2024-25 school year in April.

To be eligible for the CSC recognition, a student-athlete must hold a 3.50-or-higher grade point average and be a starter or important reserve.

St. Francis went 2-7 on the season, while placing fourth overall in the conference with a 1-3 record.
