MISHAWAKA, Ind. --
Nathan Lunde headlined the University of St. Francis men's golf team's play at the two-day Bethel University (Ind.) Pilot Spring Invitational, which was held at Blackthorn Golf Club in Mishawaka, Ind. on Friday and Saturday. The junior led the Saints to a seventh-place finish among eight squads and 42 golfers competing at the event.
Lunde recorded the seventh-best score on the first day with his round of 74. He followed that with a 78 on Saturday to finish in a three-way tie for 11th place overall with his eight-over-par 152.
Rowan Schmidt and
Jared Krison were next in line for the Saints with scores of 157 (81-76) and 163 (79-84) to place tied for 24th and tied for 34th, respectively. Rounding out USF's scoring were
Brennan Johnson (88-77=165) and
Nathan Hock (78-88=166). Johnson placed 37th, while Hock finished the day 38th.
Spring Arbor University (Mich.) tied with host Bethel University for first place at the meet with identical two-day scores of 592 (296-296). Bethel, however, lost on a tie-breaker to Spring Arbor to claim an official second-place finish. The Pilots, nonetheless, did boast the co-individual medalist in Jonah Kumfer, who shot an even-par 144 (71-73) over the two days. Kumfer tied with University of Saint Francis' (Ind.) Billy Marquart, who posted scores of 72-72.
The Saints finished with a 627 (312-315).

St. Francis will wrap up its regular season on Wednesday (April 23) when it travels to Morris, Ill. to compete in the Joliet Junior College Melee in Morris Invitational.
