MORRIS, Ill. -- Playing its final regular season tournament of the 2025 spring season, the University of St. Francis men's golf team placed second at the Joliet Junior College hosted Melee in Morris invitational at the Nettle Creek Country Club in Morris, Ill. on Wednesday.
Rowan Schmidt led the way for the Saints, producing a score of 74 on the day. The Naperville, Ill. native finished in sole possession of 3rd place, just two strokes behind individual medalist Noah McKay from Judson University (71).
Schmidt  was three strokes ahead of
Nathan Lunde, who placed in a two-way tie for the 4th position with his round of 77.
Brennan Johnson notched the other sub-80 round for USF with his 79, while
Nathan Hock and
Jared Krison rounded out St. Francis' top five with scores of 80 and 81, respectively.
College of DuPage captured the meet title with a team score of 385. That was six strokes better than St. Francis, which finished at 391.
A total of 11 teams and 67 golfers made up the field.
