SILVIS, Ill. -- Closing out its 2024-25 season, the University of St. Francis men's golf team placed 9th overall at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Monday and Tuesday at the TPC Deere Run Golf Course in Silvis, Ill.
Brennan Johnson led the way for the Saints, producing a three-round total of 270. He was the only Saint to shoot below 85 in at least one round, which he did on Tuesday with his 83. He posted scores of 92 and 95 in the first two rounds to finish 30th overall.
Nathan Hock (95, 91, 87) and
Nathan Lunde (87, 93, 94) were next in line for the Saints, finishing in a tie for 32nd and 34th places, respectively. Hock authored a 273, while Lunde was one stroke behind at a 274.
Rounding out USF's scoring was
Jared Krison with his rounds of 90, 99 and 93 for a 282 total. He would finish 37th overall.
Rowan Schmidt withdrew from the event after completing the first two rounds (91, 88) on Monday.
Host St. Ambrose University (Iowa) captured the meet title with a 103 over par 316. That was 17 strokes better than the Bees' next closest challenger, Olivet Nazarene University, who finished at 333. St. Francis shot a 445 over the three rounds.
St. Ambrose's Dylan McAleer gained medalist honors with his 16 over par 229. A total of nine teams and 40 golfers made up the field.
