SILVIS, Ill. --- Following a nearly two-week layoff, the University of St. Francis men's golf team returned to action on Monday and Tuesday, where they placed 21st at the St. Ambrose University (Iowa) NAIA National Preview.
Playing at TPC Deere Run, the Fighting Saints registered a 700 over 36 holes among a group of 21 teams and 105 golfers.
Brennan Johnson and
Nathan Lunde were USF's top two individual performers. They were separated by just one stroke. Johnson finished at 167 (83-84), while Lunde put up a 168 (83-85).
Also competing for the Saints were
Owen Haag, who shot a 180 (92-88), and
Jared Krison, who registered a 185 (90-95).
Marian University (Ind.) claimed the team title with a two-day total of 594. Indiana Wesleyan University's Sam Dykema captured medalist honors. He shot five-under-par for the tournament, finishing at 137 (68-69).
