MISHAWAKA, Ind. --
Michael Kuchar headlined the University of St. Francis men's golf team's play at the Bethel University (Ind.) Pilot Spring Invitational, which was held at Blackthorn Golf Club in Mishawaka, Ind. on Friday. The senior led the Saints to a tenth-place finish among 12 squads and 65 golfers competing at the event.
Kuchar recorded the 24th-best score in one-day, 36-hole competition with his rounds of 80 and 75 to finish in a six-way tie for 24th place overall with his eleven-over-par 155.
Nathan Lunde (80-78) and
Owen Haag (80-78) were next in line for the Saints with scores of 158 to place tied for 35th. Rounding out USF's scoring were
Grant Siegel (88-87=175) and
Brennan Johnson (85-92=177). Siegel placed 62nd, while Johnson finished the day 63rd.
Taylor University (Ind.) captured first place at the meet with a score of 578 (292-286). Grace University (Ind.) boasted the co-individual medalists in Camron Jones (72-67) and Braxton Christie (66-73), who both shot five under par 139 over the two rounds.
The Saints finished with a 643 (325-318).
