Borik, Schellhorn Earn All-Conference Honors; Saints Place Fifth in Inaugural AMC Championship

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Competing in the inaugural American Midwest Conference (AMC) Competitive Dance Championship hosted by Columbia College, the University of St. Francis dance team captured a fifth-place finish at the Arena of Southwell Complex in Columbia, Mo. on Friday.

St. Francis seized a sixth-place hold after posting a preliminary-round score of 72.60, but earned a final round tally of 72.27 during the second round.  The combination of the two scores saw USF finish with a total score of 72.35, allowing the Saints to edge out Campbellsville University (Ky.) (72.19) for the fifth-place finish.

The total score is calculated by adding 25 percent of the preliminary score with 75 percent of the final score.

St. Ambrose University was rewarded with the top score of the event, earning a total score of 90.34.  SAU did not receive a point deduction in either round, which helped the Bees overtake second-place Viterbo University (Wis.), who closed the competition with a total score of 89.06.

USF Dance Team members consisted of Sara Borik, Anna Bremer, Cierra Cosentino, Addison Decker, Alyssa Hoffman, Brianna Hoffman, Kristen Myers, Aleksandria Potoczny and Stefanie Schellhorn.

Other placements in the competition saw Missouri Baptist University (75.13) capture third, Columbia University (Mo.) (73.48) take fourth, William Woods University (Mo.) (67.38) place seventh and University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) (66.72) round out the event in eighth.

Headlining the list of conference award winners was St. Ambrose's Josie Kaffenberger who was named the AMC Performer of the Year.  AMC Newcomer of the Year honors were secured by St. Francis' Stefanie Schellhorn, while the last top individual player honor went to Viterbo's Carly Skroback, who was named the AMC Freshman of the Year.

Viterbo head coach Anna Luz was named the 2025 AMC Coach of the Year.

Two Saints - Sara Borik and Stefanie Schellhorn - earned the distinction of 2025 AMC All-Conference selections with both performers being named to the ten-member second team.  Brianna Hoffman rounded out the trio of player accolades with her selection to the eight-member AMC Competitive Dance Champions of Character grouping.
