Saints Compete At Prairie State Invite

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. - The University of St Francis men's tennis team continued its fall season competing in a fall tune-up tournament hosted by Prairie State College.  Jedriel Bondoc headlined the Fighting Saints' effort, finishing the day claiming second place after falling in the final round to individual champion Benjamin Lawrie.

Bondoc was perfect from the start, cruising to a first round 6-0, 6-0 victory over Braylon Thompson.  Lucas Fernandez-Pedrera joined Bondoc in the opening-round win column, earning matching 6-0, 6-0 scores over Ke'Shawn Harris-Powell.

Both men would face off against each other in the second round with Bondoc forcing a tie-breaker against Fernandez and coming out on top with a 1-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-8) win.  The victory set up a finals matchup against Lawrie, where Bondoc fell 7-6, 6-2.

Jack O'Donnell also competed on the day for USF, losing his first round face-off against Lawrie 6-3, 6-0.
