KANSAS CITY, Mo./CHICAGO --- Four members of the University of St. Francis women's tennis team were recognized for their academic prowess on Monday afternoon when both the NAIA released its Scholar-Athlete list and the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its All-Academic Team for the 2024 women's tennis season.
Returning to the awards stand was senior
Amanda Dutkiewicz, who was named to the CCAC team for the third time in her career. The Psychology major also repeated as a NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
Sophomores
Anna Bintsarovskaya and
Heather Heintz, meanwhile, secured their spots on both teams for the first time in their collegiate careers. Bintsarovskaya is a Computer Science major with Heintz seeking a degree in Mathematics with certification in Secondary Education.
Heintz also was the only one of 16 recognized at the conference level that turned In a perfect 4.0 report card.
Rounding out the list of recipients was junior
Viyaleta Hordzich, who claimed a spot on the league squad for the first time. She is a Marketing major.
To be nominated for the CCAC award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
In order to receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete status, nominees must be a sophomore or above in academic standing, must have been in attendance at the nominating institution for one full academic year and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher at the time of the nomination deadline.
