LOCKPORT, Ill. -- The University of St. Francis women's tennis team opened its fall season on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 7-0 decision to NCAA Division II Quincy University at Challenge Fitness.
Anna Bintsarovskaya captured the most games on the night for the Fighting Saints (0-1). She dropped a 6-3 decision paired with
Heather Heintz in the No. 1 doubles slot before falling 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
Eva Kubilius competed well at No. 2 singles before eventually falling 6-1, 6-0.
Heather Heintz took the court at No. 3 singles, falling 6-2, 6-1, while
Emma Deitz came up short with a 6-0 score in her first set before falling 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
Quincy (2-0) claimed the other two singles matches played, by 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 counts, respectively. The Hawks also won at No. 2 doubles (Kubilius / Deitz) 6-0 and No. 3 at (
Gwen Baker /
Elizabeth Dvorak) 6-0.
Up Next
The Saints will travel to Notre Dame, Ind. on Sept. 25 to take compete in the ITA Central-East Regional. The event, which will be held at the University of Notre Dame Eck Tennis Pavilion, is scheduled to start at 5:00 pm.
