JOLIET, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its season with a 5-2 victory over Elmhurst University on Tuesday afternoon as all four Saints that competed won each of their two matches.
In doubles play,
Paul Wottgen and
Bennet Piotrowski teamed up for a 6-3 victory at No. 1, with
Aidan Flores and
John Hejl scoring a 6-0 win in the No. 2 slot. Hejl was also perfect at No. 4 singles, where he won 6-0, 6-0.
In the No. 1 singles position, Wottgen gained a 6-3, 6-3 victory, while Piotrowski won at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3. Flores added to the victory count with his 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) success at No. 3.
The Saints host NCAA I Chicago State University on Sunday night at 7 pm. Â
