BROOKINGS, S. Dak. --- The 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships opened on Thursday with one member of the University of St. Francis men's team competing.
Michael Reif represented USF, taking part in the 5,000-meter preliminary race. The junior placed 23rd out of 36 individuals, finishing in a time of 15:06.37.
The top placer was Luca Madeo of the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), who finished in 14:35.92. The top 12 finishers advance to Saturday's championship.
Representing the Fighting Saints on Friday will be
Sam Mickelson, who will be competing in the 3,000-meter preliminaries at 4:15 pm.
