BOURBONNAIS, Ill. --
Jack Wright scored an individual title in helping lead the University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field team to a fourth-place finish at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships over the weekend.
Wright was one of four Saints to help produce the team's 54 total points, with
Alberto Fernandez Arango,
Scott Crabb and
Jerrico Rodriguez being the only three to score in multiple individual competitions. Along with Wright,
Cris Estanol,
Karson Shrum,
Tyler Anderson and the 4x400m team consisting of Rodriguez,
Jonathan Tavares,
Montrell Chapman and
Stephen Sodipe all earned one point-scoring placement each.
Olivet Nazarene University claimed the league championship crown with its 325.5-point total, followed by St. Ambrose University (203.5 points) in second place and Saint Xavier University (72) in third. A total of seven teams made up the field.
Wright headlined the Fighting Saints with his first-place finish among 21 competitors in the 3000-meter event. He crossed the finish line with a time of 8:38.86 to secure all-conference accolades.
The Saints also had a pair of second-place finishers in Anderson and Fernandez Arango. Anderson competed in the 3000m, finishing with a time of 8:41.38, while Fernandez Arango registered a personal best time in the 5000-meter run (15:14.79). Both performances garnered all-conference honors.
Along with his showing in the 3000m, Fernandez Arango also secured points for the Saints with his fourth-place finish in the One Mile Run (4:23.43). Estanol (4:31.41) and Shrum (4:31.60) also earned points in the same event with their seventh and eighth place finishes, respectively.
Crabb grabbed a pair of fourth place performances with his showings in the 3000m and 5000m runs. His time in the 3000m race was 8:43.21, while he crossed the finish line for the 5000m in 15:17.31.
Rounding out the list of individual point earners was Rodriguez with his sixth- and eighth-place finishes in the Long Jump (6.42m) and Triple Jump (12.38m), respectively.
USF's 4x400m relay team secured all-conference accolades with its third-place finish (3:31.10) amongst seven teams.
St. Ambrose's Dylan Grandon garnered Outstanding Track Athlete accolades, while Olivet Nazarene's Marcus Robinson claimed Outstanding Field Athlete honors. St. Ambrose's Chris Miserendino was named the meet's MVP.
Olivet Nazarene's Kyle Rago was named the CCAC Coach of the Year, while Olivet Nazarene's Matt Adams was tagged as the league's Assistant Coach of the Year.

The Saints will compete next at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place March 5-7 at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville, Fla. Anderson will compete in the 5000m.
