CHICAGO, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field team registered a trio of Top 3 finishes to earn 24 points and place ninth among 13 teams at the University of Chicago Windy City Rumble on Saturday.
Topping the list of performers was
Jack Wright, who won the 3,000-meter race among a field of 20 competitors. He finished in a time of 8:57.73.
Recording a runner-up finish was
Pedro Ocampo in the mile. A total of 47 runners made up that grouping with Ocampo recording a time of 4:28.12.
In a tight 800-meter race,
Noah Friske placed third, finishing less than one-half second behind the top performer. Friske authored a personal-best time of 1:59.25 with the top mark being 1:58.86.
Host University of Chicago captured the meet crown with its 160.5 points.
USF competes in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next Friday and Saturday down in Bourbonnais, Ill. Olivet Nazarene is serving as this year's host.
