CHANNAHON, Ill. --- Highlighted by
Bailey Wilk's sixth-place overall finish, four University of St. Francis women's cross country runners placed among the top 13 entrants in the field of 77 runners at USF's own Fighting Saints Twilight Invite on Friday night leading to the team's second-place overall finish at Channahon Community Park.
University of Chicago captured the meet with a perfect score of 15 as each of the Maroons' top five runners topped the rest of the field.  The Saints totaled 50 points followed by USF's alumni team with 90 points.
Wilk was the first non-University of Chicago runner to cross the finish line.  She paced the Saints with her time of 18:32.9 over the 5K course.  That averaged out to a 5:59 pace.
Katherine Bakken also finished among the top ten runners in the field.  She placed ninth courtesy of her 18:47.2.
USF gained the rest of its scoring from
Allison Ramsey, who just missed finishing in the Top Ten with her 11th-place effort and 19:02.6 time,
Ana Mendoza Pineda (13th, 19:14.6) and
Alexia Bibakis (20th, 19:51.5).
Chicago's Lucy Groothuis topped the overall field with her time of 17:51.8.
Notes: The Saints return to action in two weeks when they compete in the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational on Sept. 17.
