Saints Drop Decision to #1 Cardinal Stritch

MILWAUKEE.--- Facing the best team in the nation at the NAIA level on Sunday afternoon, the University of St. Francis men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference decision to Cardinal Stritch University at Elite Fitness Club. 
 

The duo of Paul Wottgen (FR/Leinburg, Germany) and Martin Rayos Del Sol (JR/Romeoville, Ill.) opened up doubles action by dropping a 6-0 decision in the No. 2 slot. Erwan Le Guennec (SR/Ercuis, France) and Daniel Espinosa (JR/Bogota, Columbia) took three games in their set at the No.1 position, but ultimately fell 6-3. The two victories were enough to get the opening point of the match for the host Wolves.
 

In singles action, Cardinal Stritch (4-0, 4-0 CCAC) was able to take control with victories at Nos. 6, 5 and 3 to close out the match with the necessary four wins.
 

With the loss, the Saints fell to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in CCAC action. Their next match takes place on April 20 against Indiana University South Bend beginning at 12 pm at Challenge Fitness indoor Courts.
