JACKSON, Mich. --- A pair of Top 5 finishes from Haley Tobiasz and Lindsey Prosperi enabled the University of St. Francis women's bowling team to post a third-place finish at the season-opening Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jackson Open on Saturday.

Tobiasz placed third with her 211.3 average (634-pin count) with Prosperi one notch below at 209.3 (628).  Tobiasz used games of 219, 217 and 198 to score her total, while Prosperi registered games of 223, 214 and 191.

Both efforts resulted in all-tournament honors.

Tobiasz fell just 13 pins shy of a runner-up finish.  That went to Indiana Institute of Technology's Miah Fetting (647, 215.7).  The top honors went to Lawrence Technological University's Samantha Czerw with her 707 total (235.7 avg.), highlighted by her opening 279.

USF's Kaitlyn Thompson finished among the Top 20 bowlers with her games of 201, 190 and 185.  That total (576) and average (192.0) were good enough for the No. 18 spot.

Spring Arbor University (Mich.) claimed the team title with its 6,092-pin count.  That was 139 pins better than second-place Lawrence Tech (5,953) and 160 ahead of St. Francis (5,932).

Among USF's reserve performers, Isabella Chojnowski just missed a Top 20 mark, finishing in 21st place with her 190.7 average.  As a team, the reserve unit was seventh among eight squads with a 4,706.  Indiana Tech won that grouping with a 5,615.
