LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of St. Francis softball team has earned the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Team Academic Award sponsored by Easton for the 2025-26 school year, as announced by the organization.

This marks the 14th straight season the Fighting Saints have landed the NFCA Team Academic Excellence Award, and second under head coach Alyssa Moreno.  Members of the squad compiled a 3.33 cumulative grade point average between the fall and spring semesters.

USF also had eight student-athletes named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.  Representing the Fighting Saints were Juliana Anderson, Chylece Cluck, Mackenzie Farkas, Hailey Kaddatz, Isabella Landeros, Abby Sippel, Morgan Smardo and Sarah Viar.

The NFCA Team Academic Awards recognize women's softball programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team gpa of 3.25 or higher. The NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete distinction, meanwhile, includes freshman, sophomore, junior, senior and graduate student-athletes who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative gpa of 3.5 or higher. The NFCA's academic awards recognize teams and athletes from all levels of college softball.

The Saints finished the 2026 season with a 38-16 overall mark and finished second overall in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with a 20-7 record.
