GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Two members of the University of St. Francis men's cross country and track & field programs have garnered recognition as 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NAIA Academic All-District selections.  Announced as team selections for the first time in their careers were Jack Wright and Alberto Fernandez Arango.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track and in the classroom.  To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically and boast no less than a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, while performing at an elite athletic level.  Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.

As a Biology major, Wright has gained Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) All-league honors a total of five times thus far in his career.  Three of those accolades have come in cross country in 2023, 2024 and 2025, while on the track side he has gained all-conference status by claiming the 2026 Indoor individual champion title in the 3000-meter run and as a member of the 2024 Indoor 4x800-meter relay team.

Wright has been a part of three teams that finished in the Top 25 at the NAIA Cross Country Championships over his three seasons of competition, including this past fall's 23rd place finisher.

Named to the Dean's list in four of his six semesters thus far at USF, Wright has been recognized as a NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC All-Academic honoree, twice each in cross country and track & field.

Fernandez Arango, a Finance major, has earned Dean's List honors in three of his five semesters, thus far, at St. Francis.  Like Wright, he has earned all-conference accolades in both cross country and track & field, having done so by securing a 13th-place finish at the CCAC Championships this past fall and also by placing second in the 5000-meter run at the CCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in February.

Fernandez Arango was also named as both a NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC all-academic selection in both cross country and track & field for the first time this year.

The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes track & field honorees in four divisions – NCAA I, II and III and NAIA.  Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this month.
