PR’s Aplenty For Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field At Chicago Collegiate Invitational

CHICAGO -- Nineteen Saints in total recorded personal-best marks in their respective events to lead the University of St. Francis men's and women's indoor track & field teams at the Chicago Collegiate Invitational Friday.  On the women's side, ten PR's spanned across six events throughout the day, while the men recorded a total of nine amongst four competitions.

Of the personal-bests, Tyler Anderson led the way for the men as he paced a pack of 19 runners with his first place overall finish in the 3000-meter run with his time of 8:37.02.  Alberto Fernandez Arango (8:38.64), Jack Wright (8:39.53), Scott Crabb (8:42.30) and Karson Shrum (8:55.28) all also PR'd in the same event claiming second, third, fifth and sixth places, respectively.

In the 200-meter, two Saints established personal bests.  Damien Dougherty finished 38th overall with a time of 24.75, and Philip Duff recorded a 25.09 mark for the 43rd position.

Jerrico Rodriguez was the lone Saint to author two PRs on the day.  He did so with his 7.39 time in the 60-meter preliminaries and his 6.54m distance in the long jump.

On the women's side, three Saints set personal bests in the 200-meter.  Regan Furmankiewicz placed 11th overall with a time of 28.22, while Samantha Thompson recorded a 30.48 for 14th place.  Makenzie Piwcewicz also PR'd in 16th place with her time of 30.59.

In the 800-meter, Patrycja Mrowca (13th place) ran a 2:32.57 for her PR, while Sydney Lukancic (26th place) established her personal-best of 2:53.03.

Rylee Milenkovic, Lilia Hacker and Ruby Cavaliere also authored career-bests in their respective events.  Milenkovic competed in the 3000-meter with a final time of 11:49.20, while Hacker ran a 1:04.99 in the 400-meter run.  Cavaliere posted a time of 9.21 in the 60-meter preliminaries.

Two Saints rounded out the PR pack in the one mile run.  Dyannara Franco finished 8th overall with her time of 5:15.91 and Evita Martinez crossed the finished line in the 9th position with a time of 5:16.06.

The Saints will compete in the Olivet Nazarene University Walter Cramer Invite in the Perry Student Life & Recreation Center on Friday, February 6.  The event will commence with a 3 pm start.
