DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field team registered 11 Top 3 finishes at the St. Ambrose University Fighting Bee Invitational on Saturday.
Topping the list of performers were
Alberto Fernandez Arango and
Jack Wright, who each placed first and second overall in their respective events. Both men competed in the one mile run and 3000-meter race, with Fernandez Arango grabbing first place honors in the one mile (4:21.87) and Wright doing the same in the 3000-meter (8:52.82). Fernandez Arango would later finish second overall in the 3000-meter behind Wright with a time of 8:56.87, while Wright clocked in at 4:22.00 behind Fernandez Arango for a second-place finish in the one mile.
Scott Crabb also competed in the one mile and 3000-meter runs, finishing third in each event with times of 4:28.60 and 9:05.79, respectively.
Also recording third-place finishes on the day were
Ellias Smith,
Montrell Chapman,
Cris Estanol, Â and
Jerrico Rodriguez. Smith recorded a time of 23.35 in the 600-meter, Chapman took part in the 400-meter (53.56), Estanol crossed the finish line in the 600-meter at 1:30.62, and Rodriguez posted a final distance of 6.54m in the long jump.
Jonathan Tavares rounded out USF's top three placements with his second-place finish in the 600-meter with a time of 1:30.34.
