GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Two members of the University of St. Francis men's bowling program have garnered recognition as 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NAIA Academic All-District selections. Announced as men's at-large team selections for the first time in their careers were
Braden Kidd and
Dylan Holtz.
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the lanes and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically and boast no less than a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, while performing at an elite athletic level. Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
A three-year member of the St. Francis program, Kidd appeared in all 10 varsity tournaments during the 2024-25 season. He averaged a 192.9 mark this past winter with his best performance of the year coming at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 18-19), where he bowled to a 214.5 average.
The award comes on top of Kidd claiming NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition for the second time in his career and Wolverine-Hoosier All-Academic (WHAC) recognition for the first time. A Communications & Media Arts major, he is a Dean's List recipient in each of his six semesters at the university and has maintained a perfect 4.00 grade point average.
Holtz, a junior, finished the 2024-25 varsity season with a 171.5 reading. The La Grange Park, Ill. native's best finish of the year came at the Michigan Open (Dec. 7), where he placed first overall among 129 competitors with a 241.7 average and gained all-tournament team accolades. His best single-game score came at the same tournament, where he fired a 279.
A Marketing major, Holtz also earned WHAC Bowler of the Week honors once during the regular season. Added to that, he claimed NAIA Scholar-Athlete and WHAC All-Academic accolades for the first time this winter, while also being named to the Dean's List for the fifth time in his six semesters at the university.
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions – NCAA I, II and III and NAIA. Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this month.
